The Antonič farm is located in the fascinating region of the Triestino Carso between the castles of Miramar and Duino, in the village of Ceroglie at the foot of mount Hermada. It is a charming place, rich of mystery and of great naturalistic interest.

The local elderly people tell that the village is named after a type of oaks that until more than a century ago were shading the valley. The story of the Antonič family is tightly interlaced with the tradition of the ovine breeding on the Carso. Our grandfather, between the two WW wars owned a flock of more than thousend sheep. After the second WW, owing to the poor pastures conditions he was forced to abandon his beloved animals.

Fifty years thereafter the tradition is perpetuated by is son Giuseppe and the flocks, even if not that big, are back to the pastures of Ceroglie.

The Antonič farm is a family business. The animals pasture led by the shepherd and are back to the farm only at night for the milking.

Excellent cheeses and delicate "ricotte" (kind of fresh cottage cheese) are produced out of the milk following the rules handed on by the father, in full respect of the tradition. Besides these tasty cheeses the farm can supply livestock and, for the nature lovers, fantastic walks together with the flock.

For some years, following the touristic development, the farm opened an outlet to sell its products directly to the public. The many wayfarers who meet themselves here during the weekends to stroll on the tracks of Mount Hermada can then taste them at the snackFarm Antonič, masterfully run by the youngsters of the family !
